Advanced Treatments of Sports Injuries

Robert P. Falconiero, is a board certified and fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine at Premier Orthopaedic Associates. His practice focuses on advanced treatments of sports related injuries especially of the knee and shoulder. He continues to care for athletes at all levels and all ages.

Dr. Falconiero earned his BA from Lafayette College in Easton, PA followed by his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. During his internship and orthopaedic residency, he served as the Chief Intern and Chief Resident at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, School of Osteopathic Medicine.

During his fellowship, he provided medical coverage for the Philadelphia Flyers Hockey team, the Philadelphia Eagles Football team, and the Villanova University Football team.

He also treated players participating in the Ebel and Virginia Slims Tennis Tournaments. Dr. Falconiero is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Decades of Excellence in Sports Medicine

Before joining Premier Orthopaedic Associates of Southern New Jersey, Dr. Falconiero was the founder and owner of South Jersey Sports Medicine Centers, practicing in Turnersville and Cherry Hill, NJ for two decades. He was the first physician in Southern New Jersey to perform meniscal transplantations.

Throughout his career Dr. Falconiero has helped to shape orthopaedic medicine by serving as both the former President of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics (AOAO) and the President of the Sports Medicine Section of the same organization. For eight years he served on the Board of the AOAO and also held various positions within the Academy for the past twenty years.

“No injury is insignificant. You cannot always rely on an athlete to tell you he or she is in pain for fear of being sidelined. When an injury goes unattended that is when an athlete loses time on the court or field.”

Serving the Communities of South Jersey

Robert Falconiero grew up playing sports in Southern New Jersey and became a Division I college basketball player at Lafayette College. In an effort to serve his community, he serves as the Head Coach of the Bishop Eustace Preparatory School Boys’ Varsity Basketball program. Dr. Falconiero is a unique blend of experience as a player, a coach, and an orthopaedic physician specializing in sports medicine. He is recognized within the communities he resides as a leader on and off the court. Dr. Falconiero is committed to providing the patients with the latest technology and personal attention they have learned to expect.
