About Dr. Dwyer
Dr. Thomas A. Dwyer, MD, FAAOS, is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon and the President/CEO of Premier Orthopaedic Associates.
Dr. Dwyer specializes in orthopedic arthroscopic sports medicine, shoulder and knee surgery. His practice covers all areas of orthopedic medicine and he has a personal interest in sports medicine. Dr. Dwyer most commonly treats torn rotator cuff and labrum tears in the shoulder and ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) and meniscal tears in the knee. He is a master shoulder instructor in advanced surgical techniques and served as the Chair of Surgery at South Jersey Healthcare from 2008-2014.
Dr. Dwyer graduated from The University of Notre Dame and went on to attain his medical degree from Syracuse University, followed by his internship and residency at The University of Connecticut Health & Science Center. He then completed his fellowship at The Orthopedic Research of Virginia program in Sports Medicine.
Thomas A. Dwyer, MD, FAAOS is an attending faculty member at Rowan University Medical School. He is an integral part of the Orthopedic Residency Program at Inspira Health and recognized for his exceptional leadership and dedication to orthopedic resident education. Dr. Dwyer is honored to be recognized as a Cumberland County Legend 2020 for his unwavering dedication and lifelong commitment to making Cumberland County a better place to live and work.
As a result of Dr. Dwyer having had “nearly every sports injury under the sun” he was exposed to a number of great orthopedic doctors that ignited his passion for sports medicine. Now, he helps athletes get back on the field to do what they love by utilizing today’s advancements in arthroscopic surgery.
