Distinctions
Dr. Disabella served for many years as Team Physician for the athletic Department at the University of Delaware. He and his medical support team attended 23 NCAA Sports Teams, the University of Delaware cheerleaders, mascots, and a number of both Olympic and professional level figure skaters. For more then a decade he has acted as the personal physician for multiple Olympic and professional level athletes. Dr. Disabella has also had the distinction of serving as President of the AOASM from 2012-13. He is nationally recognized and considered by his peers, to be an expert in the use of supplements and performance enhancing substances in athletes. He lectures locally and nationally about these topics and, has published multiple medical articles. In addition, Dr. Disabella contributed numerous chapters to various medical texts. Dr. Disabella has been interviewed on several television programs including ESPN’S, “Outside the Lines” and is the former host of “The Sports Health Highlight”, a weekly radio talk show available worldwide.

Dr. Vincent N. Disabella, DO, FAOASM is Double Board Certified, Fellowship Trained Primary Care Sports Medicine Physician. He is also a board certified internal medicine physician, with Premier Orthopaedic Associates who is affiliated with Inspira Health System.
Dr. Disabella’s practice covers all areas of sports medicine including: concussion and post-concussion management, ultra sound guided injections, platelet-rich plasma or PRP therapy, treatment and management of exercise induced asthma, evaluation and monitoring of diabetic athletes among many other non-surgical treatment or program options for orthopaedic injuries and related issues. In addition, Dr. Disabella is uniquely qualified to assist in prevention of injury, by utilizing Body Motion Evaluation Techniques, as part of a program designed for active people of any age and ability to succeed in their pursuit of improved health. His extensive experience is with patients and athletes, both in the field, and in practical hands-on treatment. This experience coupled with his belief in teaching the highest standards of health and wellness as he lives what he teaches, makes him qualified to evaluate and guide the treatment of any orthopaedic concerns or injuries. Dr. Disabella's ongoing pursuit education ensures his awareness and adoption of, the best and most effective cutting edge therapies.As a result Premier patients benefit from the most appropriate surgical or nonsurgical solutions, to restore their health.
Dr. Disabella graduated from Albright College and went on to attain his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM). After graduating, he remained at PCOM to complete his Internship and residency training. Upon completion, he fulfilled fellowship requirements in Sports Medicine/Primary Care at the Barnabas the Health System's Union Hospital.
Dr. Disabella was the Assistant Director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship at Crozer Keystone Health System from 1996-1998. During his tenure at the University of Delaware Dr. Disabella was the former Team Physician from 1998-2006, responsible for the healthcare management of 23 NCAA varsity teams, cheerleaders, the dance team, mascots and the national and international figure skaters who trained at the university. Dr. Disabella was also Co-Director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Reading, PA from 2004-2009.
With a national reputation as a leader in the field Dr. Disabella has extensively lectured on Sports Medicine related topics, at state, regional and national venues as well as presented at various professional meetings. Dr. Disabella has published a variety of medical articles and contributed chapters for numerous medical texts. In addition he has been interviewed on multiple television programs and hosted a weekly radio talk show.
Dr. Disabella recently joined Inspira Health Network as the Director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship. In this role, along with his duties at Premier, Dr. Disabella is leading the way for the future of Sports Medicine physicians. He is establishing a fellowship program aimed at increasing the visibility and understanding of the discipline, along with developing young doctors, into world class leaders who will strive to achieve the highest of standards. Dr. Disabella continues to manage the healthcare and performance needs of a few professional athletes.
