Dr. Dwyer graduated from The University of Notre Dame and went on to attain his medical degree from Syracuse University followed by his Internship and Residency training at The University of Connecticut Health & Science Center. Dr. Dwyer then completed his fellowship at The Orthopaedic Research of Virginia program in Sports Medicine.

Thomas A. Dwyer, MD, FAAOS is an attending faculty member at Rowan University Medical School and an integral part of the Orthopaedic Residency Program training new physicians at Inspira Health Network.

Dr. Dwyer was inspired to become an Orthopaedic Surgeon because he “has had nearly every sports injury under the sun” and as a result he was exposed to a number of great orthopedic doctors. Those positive experiences, a passion for sports and an interest in medicine are what drove him to sports medicine. Now he helps athletes get back on the field and doing what they love. Dr. Dwyer points to Arthroscopic surgery and the tiny incisions required to perform surgery as the greatest advancement in Orthopedic care today. Premier patients can recover with “less pain, greater mobilization and a quicker return to normal work and play.”
